It’s not the same without you

Christmas came earlier this year
4 month ago you gave me your love
and now you are still here, you are still my dear,
though you are far away you are still near…to me

like the stillness to the holy night
I get chills when I think of you, I wanna hold you tight
shivering cold, I wish I'd get a closer sight

of you and your smile, your aura of happiness,
rather reading written I wanna listen to your oral messages

with you in front of me, not on the back of my mind
next to you I wish I could be, as a blessing for my eyes

thank you for being you, for giving me
the hope to going through and the believe that I need

thank you for everything, our time will come
until then I’m gonna think of you till my mind goes numb

The sun behind the mist

Once I took a journey on a train on a cold sunny winter day. The snow glittered from the  trees and streets and everything was covered in white snowy flakes. The landscape and scenery was great and inspiring. So the lonely journey became more bearable as I looked out the window and indulge in my thoughts. After a while the train crossed a woody path where the trees was really high. They blocked out the sun and it became darker and darker. When the path was passed a really thick mist appeared out of nowhere and the scenery went from clearly to eerie.

It was an awesome sight, although the diffusing light created a mysterious spooky atmosphere. For a moment the sun was completely gone behind the mist but when I looked up the sky for a second time I was amazed by what I just saw. For the first time in my life I had a glimpse of the sun in its entirety. I could see the big round shape of the sun without blinking.

Actually you have to blink whenever you look straight into the sun because of its brightness, but with the mist in front of it you can have a full view on it. It looks almost like a full moon in the middle of the day. What a wonderful sight. This experience made me think. I thought it was pretty ironic to finally see something in its entirety after it is hidden.

Sometimes when you look at something you will get blinded, be it a situation or a person. But rather having a clear sight you might want to see things in their entirety, see the bigger picture so to speak. And this is sometimes only possible when you look past the shine. Maybe all you can see is just the shape of something, but then maybe you can also see its core. Choose for yourself. Because you don’t need to see the core of the sun to feel its warmth.
