A life of a penguin is really harsh. First, they are born in a deadly cold environment, literally. It takes a moment of carelesness and the egg they're in will freeze and crack. Only with the utmost care of the parents will the egg be safe and has a chance of survival. Second, it takes the effort of the whole group to survive the ice-cold winter. Standing shoulder to shoulder, every single penguin contributes to the survival of each and every one in the so-called huddle. By giving their warmth, they protect themselve from the cold wind and low temperature. Every penguin takes their turn to be inside the huddle and warm themselve up a bit. It's a process that goes on for month until the female penguins come back from their hunt for food. Not everyone will survive. It is tough. Even after they survive the winter, if the female penguins come back without food the baby penguins won't survive. And everything will be for nothing. The life of a penguin. The cold reality of nature.

A Good Day
A wonderful morning. Snow covered ground. Eyes are blurred by the early sunshine. Half awake, rather half asleep. What kind of day is expecting me? What kind of day am I expecting? A familiar feeling. I felt it before. Deja vu. Turn on the radio. Relaxing sound. Positive and light. Tapping feet. Tap-tap-tap-tap. Fully awake. Smile. Good feeling. A good day. Let's see. Breakfast. Cereal and milk. Nice. Perfect start. A good day. A good day. Smile.
The End.

Cloudy Times
Sometimes it’s time, even in the midst of a storm, to stop and breathe. And here I am, thinking of you. The sad feeling that overcomes me every time when I stop, reminds me of a floating cloud in the sky. It easily can resolve into the air and becomes one with all if it chooses to. But instead it lingers around and take on the heavy particles of every little tiny drop around it.

Imagine one that is slowly taking the shape of a heart. Do you see it? Do you see it floating around? If you do, that’s because I miss you. I miss you very much.

Reality or Fiction?
Do you like your memories to be based on reality or fiction? What is a fictional memory? A fake memory? Well, it doesn't matter. It's the feeling that matters! Either way, memories are connected to emotions. It's about what we can take from the past to the present and into the future. And sometimes fiction can become reality!
This little short film got me thinking and besides that, it's beautifully shot and contains great acting. Credits to Phillip Wang and Wesley Chan of WongFuProductions and Chris Dinh and Mimi Chao as the leading roles.
